The Oriental Ceramic Society, London
The Oriental Ceramic Society (OCS) in London was established in 1921 to promote scholarship and interest in Asian art, and in the intervening years it has attracted members from around the world. The Society hosts regular lectures given by international scholars, and publishes these in its annual Transactions of the Oriental Ceramic Society. In addition, the OCS stages exhibitions, the most recent of which was The World in Colours, and holds regular informal meetings to which members are encouraged to bring objects for discussion, while visits to significant collections and exhibitions of Asian art in Britain and abroad are also part of the Society’s activities.
